Weight Loss Programs

They mostly all work. However for the most part it's only for a short period of time and then BOOM. Back to where you started or even worse.

The main characteristic to getting where you want to be health wise is to make it a lifestyle. Joining a Gym or some fitness place or camp does work and can get you results fast. The downside to that is, what did you really learn from it. Basically someone fished for you. You need to learn to fish for yourself. I do recommend gyms privately owned- ie usually crossfit or privately owned facilities like Rawmana. They provide with education, personal attention, and actually have an interest in your success versus chain/commercialized gyms. I would actually learn quite a bit from them and integrate to my training. I plan on visiting there if I'm ever in the area.

At my martial art academy we instill in each member what types of exercises they can do anywhere without a gym or weights. Through martial art we can use it to fight our mental shift whether or not to get up off the couch, to push for that extra rep, to eat on time, get ready for work, calm down, etc.

A person asked me once have you ever thought of using weights. I replied yes I have used them in the past and quite rarely during my class. However when I use weights it shows the rest of the class that they need weights in order to workout. The person telling me this is of course not in shape. Now, he meant well. It just goes to show how we are already trained to think if don't have a gym or place to workout we can't get in shape. When in fact that is 100% false. I haven't touched a dumb bell to workout in over 6 months. Recently I have been using Gymnastic Rings and natural or regular objects in everyday life as tools for exercise. Everything to me is resistance.  Why I mention exercise on the Diet PAGE is because they go hand in hand.

As part of our lifestyle you should integrate simple everyday activities where you can get you an exercise session in throughout the day whether at work, at home, or at your leisure. (Groceries, I eat lots of watermelon so I work with them too. Just an idea to get the mind going. Be Creative.)

Once you learn this and reap the benefits of it then you will continue on the path. Why? Well from the results and feeling you get from changing your lifestyle for the better is highly more rewarding than the one you had prior.

Garlic

In test tube studies garlic has been found to have antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal activity. However, these actions are less clear in humans. Garlic is also claimed to help prevent heart disease (including atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure) and cancer.[16] Animal studies, and some early investigational studies in humans, have suggested possible cardiovascular benefits of garlic. A Czech study found that garlic supplementation reduced accumulation of cholesterol on the vascular walls of animals.[17] Another study had similar results, with garlic supplementation significantly reducing aortic plaque deposits of cholesterol-fed rabbits.[18] Another study showed that supplementation with garlic extract inhibited vascular calcification in human patients with high blood cholesterol.[19] The known vasodilative effect of garlic is possibly caused by catabolism of garlic-derived polysulfides to hydrogen sulfide in red blood cells, a reaction that is dependent on reduced thiols in or on the RBC membrane. Hydrogen sulfide is an endogenous cardioprotective vascular cell-signaling molecule

Really Raw Honey

Most honeys found in the supermarket are not raw honey but “commercial" honey, which has been heated and filtered so that it looks cleaner and smoother, more appealing on the shelf, and easier to handle and package. When honey is heated, its delicate aromas, yeast and enzymes which are responsible for activating vitamins and minerals in the body system are partially destroyed. Hence, such honey is not as nutritious as raw honey.

I personally like the brand "Really Raw honey"

Really Raw® Honey is totally unprocessed honey. It still contains pollen, propolis, honeycomb and live enzymes -- all the goodness the bees put in! That's why Really Raw® Honey is creamy, smooth and spreadable with sweet and crunchy cappings. Really Raw® Honey is gathered from fields of wildflowers planted by nature, without pesticides or fertilizers.

Q: What are cappings? What do they taste like?

A: The crunchy bits of pollen, propolis, and capping wax that crown each jar of our honey are called "cappings". Cappings have the highest concentrations of pollen and propolis, which are known for their healthful properties. Due to popular request, Really Raw Honey Cappings are now available by the jar and can be chewed, just like chewing gum, for a sweetly delicious way to enjoy and ingest the goodness the bees put in.
